HIGHEST PERFORMANCE UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS.
Hard carbon black is manufactured by means of the so-called tread reactor under extreme temperatures above 1900°C.
Reducing atmosphere, quenching with water and gas velocities beyond the speed of sound require the highest possible quality refractory materials. Achieved by proper material selection and high temperature firing. Based on synthetic tabular-, or fused corundum with additional Zr. oxide bricks type KORRATH or high-precision castables type CARATH.
HIGH PRECISION
Carbon black reactors require perfectly shaped bricks to deal with the extreme circumstances. For complex reactor parts like choke zone and quench, RATH offers pre-drilled and pre-assembled parts made from KORRATH K99E and K99TG. Hand-made with special surface treatment to ensure perfect fit and therefore, the longest service life.
SOFT CARBON BLACK
The carcass reactor is used to produce soft carbon black. Horizontal and vertical designs are in service, each presenting specific refractory challenges. These reactors operate at slightly lower temperatures than tread reactors; however, carcass reactors pose a challenge due to their size, complex inlet and support parts and the use of alkali additives.
Applications - your perfect solution
RATH refractory products are successfully used in numerous reactors worldwide.
